I am happy to announce the successful kickoff of our faculty training workshops in Tbilisi. Between 20-30 faculty from DOIT's Georgian Universities benefited from the program here at TSU. Over the two and one half days, interactive lectures presented pedagogical approaches to teaching two of DOIT's pilot courses, especially the course Children's Rights in and Through Education. The success of the this conference and workshop is due to the active organization and participation of Prof. Izabella Petriashvili, Prof. Nino Chiabrishvili, Dr. Laura Sigad, Dr. Manal Yazbak Abu Achmad, Prof. Nino Chikovani, Dr. Tamar Mosiashvili, Ms. Natia gorgadze and our amazing translators of Inna Baratashvili and Dr. Tamriko Jojua.
In addition, we finalized the dates for our next international meeting in Georgia at Alhatskhe which will be hosted by SJSTU. It will be between May 26 (arriving on the 25th) until May 29th, 2014. Details will follow.
Meanwhile, the Israeli DOIT team is looking forward to hosting 7 members from the Georgian DOIT team for Kaye's upcoming conference. These members of the Georgian DOIT team will arrive on March 23 and stay in Israel until March 30, 2014. They will begin their Israeli visit in the south in order to participate in the conference and on March 26th come up to the North and be hosted by Gordon Academic College and Sachnin Academic College to discuss DOIT's programs and other possible areas of new collaborative programs and projects.
Wishing you all well and wishing you all success in implementing DOIT's pilots in the upcoming semester of the academic 2014 year.
